Quotes from the Shalom led service
at Coleford Baptist Church on 1st July 2018

“I found the service inspiring. It was wonderful to see the Lord working through these young people. What an amazing powerful message! It is so good that there is Christian work is being done. It is so important that our church participates. Thank you”

“It was a wonderful service and the young people have obviously worked so hard. The message was amazing in the way they portrayed it. May God bless the work that is being done. Thank you”.

“It was a very moving service, a lot of thought and preparation has gone into it. A reminder to all of us that we should never underestimate all discounts the abilities and talents that we all have.”

“Very well prepared and delivered and performed by the group. Very good for the group and all those present at the service.”

“You performed and portrayed the message very simply that it was profound.”

"The Shalom groups have helped greatly for all of my young people, over a range of ages, with additional and non-additional needs, from academically clever to severe learning disabilities.
But for a particular young lady with severe needs, we have seen her blossom and in small steps, seen her confidence build and her trust in God develop.
She loves going to the Shalom group evenings and feels she can relax and share and try new things with people she can trust."

"What a wonderful day we have had at the Shalom Gathering.
A day spent with the most beautiful people of all abilities in the most beautiful setting.
Thank you Shona and team for organising and facilitating an excellent day.
As someone said to me.. 'this is truly Church at its best.' Indeed, we had a foretaste of heaven today and the Good Shepherd came very close to us.

Shalom Gatherings
I have attended almost all of Shalom Gatherings with children in care. Many of them have never set foot inside a church. One child in particular dislikes typical church buildings and services but absolutely enjoys these get togethers. The mix of creative play, prayer, workshops, craft, outdoor activity and sitting down together for food, provides a perfect setting and atmosphere for him to worship.

Two other c in c whom I take along have enjoyed it so much that they wish to bring their carers along too, and the carers are keen too!.

Another 14 year old who has joined me a couple of times wishes to deepen his faith and has asked his own foster carer to transport him to our gathering.

Shalom Gathering
It was the first Shalom Gathering I'd been to, and I was just helping in the kitchen. I was so struck by the family atmosphere, where everyone was equally included, listened to and valued - whatever their age or ability. It was a real privilege to be part of the day.

Shalom Gathering
I have been attending the shalom gathering for the last couple of years with my 4-year-old daughter, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. These events cater for all ages and all needs and my daughter enjoys attending and joining in the activities in a safe and friendly environment. During this time we are able to spend it together enjoying the word of God.

Digging Deeper
I have attended these sessions since it started and have enjoyed learning more about the bible. These cater for all abilities and makes for interesting session with great questions being asked, with plenty of time to explore the answers to the questions.

Prophetic Art
I have attended these sessions since they started and have enjoyed the me time. Spending time with people of all abilities and God to paint/ draw what is on your heart. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly.

Emma

I would just like to congratulate you and the Shalom group for the wonderful dramatization you all did at the joint service at St Margaret Mary during Easter week.
It was a very moving poem and performance, and the group gave a great amount of pleasure to all of us who were there. They obviously enjoyed doing it too, which showed in their performances.
